Just wondering if anyone has tried 110 or 125 grain bullets in their M14. Thinking of loading up some plinking/varmint ammo, but not sure if it's worth it. How does the twist rate work on lighter bullets and do they function well? Any comments?

I love shooting 125 gr Speer TNT pills through my M14 and M1 Garand. Lots of noise, gentle recoil! Life is good!
I like surplus ball powder from Higginson Powders outside Ottawa, ON. WC735 at $ 20 per lb works for me!
By all means, use the lighter bullets, lots cheaper too. Especially if you are shooting primarily inside 100 to 200m! Hey, even inside 500m the 125 grainers work fine!

Yup, I've shot a bunch of Czech surplus 123 grain pulls. WW748. 47.0 grains for a starting load.

I have used 110gr VMax and 125gr Ballistic Tip out of an M14 no problem. Accuracy was OK. Biggest issue was loading the bullets long enough to minimize jump.
