Recently saw a single, rather obscure photo in the US Army manual FM23-8 (p63), showing an interesting winter trigger/safety attachment for the M14. Can anyone provide user feedback on them? How do they perform and feel? Are they rare or available? What do they sell for? Any alternate solutions for cold weather (i.e., sub 10 below C.) shooting? Any insights appreciated.

Though I am certainly not a SME, I regularly shoot well below -10C. I have shot year round, and hunted with the M14 for about 16 years.
I started hunting with an m14 back then, and kept trying all the odd stuff that I could find, including winter triggers, and the winter safety or whatever it is called. I didn't find that either were beneficial, though I am thinking about trying the winter safety again. I found the trigger had way more wobble then I'd want for hunting, so scrapped it.
