Hi folks.

My GF is...well...a typical GF, and a sucker for esthetics. She LOVES the esthetics of laminate stocks. I've had no problem sourcing 10/22 laminate stocks, but haven't seen much in the way of laminate stocks for sale for M14s. I know that they're out there (seen pics of them), but I'm not sure where to find them. Any suggestions?

I seem to remember fulton armories had them on a table at the cleveland gun show - and yes they were beeeautiful stocks----

Unfortunately, Boyd's has just discontinued their M14/M1A laminate stock. I tried to order two of the last ones but was too late. It's a shame, because they were really good-looking, good-feeling stocks, but the order desk girl said that they were cutting back on a large number of designs that weren't selling well enough and that was one of them.

I did get two of their walnut versions, which were on sale for $45 each in the clearout section of their site. They were in my hands about two weeks later and, for the money, look great. Unfinished, but sanded and ready to go. They still had one left on their site the last time I checked.

The Boyd's are (were) nice. Glad I got one when I did.

So hat you're saying is that for nice wood stocks for an M14, my options are:

#1. Boyd's M1 Garand style #1 in walnut (maybe)

and

#2. Buy used off the EE.

Sigh. If I hadn't of gotten in on Marstar's M14's in time, I would have said that my timing sucks :(

I got my Boyd's pepper lam stock and handguard a few months ago, I'm very glad I ordered it and didn't wait for the Marstar shipment. Now I have all the parts and still waiting on the rifle.

Everyone that's interested should send Boyds an email!
It's not like they can't start making them again if there is enough interest....

This is 2nd hand at best, but apparently there may be a splitting of the business with another company making the m1a stocks. I don't know this as a fact, but I read it somewhere on the net.

From Wenig today:

Mike,

Yes, we can make you a M1A stock in any of our laminated birch colors. For a machine inletted M1A stock and hand guard set in laminated birch is $190.00.

Wenig's design is nice. Its for a scoped M14 and eliminates the need to have a separate cheek piece. Its also designed with a more vertical handgrip. I'd go for it, but the next m14 is going to be an iron sights only gun. I've already got a GI stocked scoped m14.
