The few USGI stocks I've seen pop up for sale don't have all the steel bits, will my Norc parts fit without modifications?

BTW, looking for a USGI syn stock in very good, to excellent condition :)

The synthetic stocks don't use the stock liners.
Mine fit like a glove. Others have had a wee bit of fitting to do.
A quick search will bring lots-O-posts on the issue.

The buttplate will fit, however, you'll need an insert for the top screw to screw into. It's a little metal plate.

Kwattro,
Sorry, should have been more clear that the other parts fit too.
For the upper butt plate screw I just found a nut that fit the screw and it fit in the slot in the stock. Can't give you an exact size as I dug it out of the spare hardware drawer on my bench.

Someone had posted earlier that there were some bolts (stove type IIRC) that were a dead ringer for the rivit heads on the USGI stocks.

You are looking for "Button head cap screws" or you should be able to find anodized tube rivets but then you will need to parkerize them and locate the rivet tool which seems very elusive .

For the front sling swivel I used T nuts and locktight.works great and easly
removed if needed.
Mikebaker have you any more stocks(sorry about the hijack)

regards

front swivel and ferrule comes with the stock (99% ).
The rear swivel can stay.
Buttplate and rear swivel fit from the Norc as well.
The only thing you'll need is a screw and a nut that will secure the top of the butplate. Homedepot/Rone/CT/HH. will be the places to look for them.

Mike Baker, I found the rear swivel I misplaced.......
The stock sling rattled in the woods (I was hunting) and I taped the metal hook to the swivel. When I got home, I watched some M14 #### and got to paint my new stock. I was in a hurry to dissasemble the rifle, mainly because I couldn't find the place to put the stock liner in, so I was confused  ... and unscrewed the swivel rather then take the tape off........
It was attached to the sling the whole time. :(
That was a dumb move.
