Got a few of these warcomps and just wondering how everyone is mounting them.
They all came with shims that are way too small. 71654-1 .530OD .360ID. These arent even close to fitting over the M15 barrels. So how can I time the muzzle device?

I’ve sent their technical support an email. Awaiting reply now.
I walked into a local gun store yesterday and asked if I can see the shims in their brand new M15 warcomp 556. They were nice enough to open up the package and show me the shim set. It was also a pack of the 71654-1. The pack thats way too small.
So seems like quite a few if not all the M15 muzzle devices are packed with the wrong shims.

Would a crush washer work in this case?

IIRC that the shims are used for suppressor use, to time the MB for the correct position for the suppressor, I don't see why the crush washer wouldn't work? The shims make for a "cleaner" install IMO if you have them? Is M15 closer to 5/8-24?

Pretty sure the shims don’t go over the barrel, they go inside the device, and press against the face of the barrel…

Glad that you brought that up.
I was thinking about that and it is in fact mentioned in the manual as well:

With special notes about the SCAR H, MK48, and M240

However, in Surefire's installation video on an AR15, they places it over the barrel 1:09:

I'm pretty sure the shims that comes with the 5/8-24 warcomps will fit on over the barrel, but I guess M15 warcomps are different from the regular 1/2x28 and 5/8 ones and need to be installed on end of the barrel?

well, thats good to know. Now I dont have to wait for SF to send me anything.

I was thrown off by the SF installation video cause I thought my rifle should follow the same instructions as the AR in the video.
But overall, seems better this way. No shiny silver rings thats visible on the barrel this way.
