M16 Rear Aperture Sight

Good morning,

can anyone tell me if the rear sight aperture on a M16A1 is compatible withe the more modern larger hole M4 aperture? They look similar but is the windage(?) screw the same thread?

Wondering as my eyes aren't what they used to be and find the small hole aperture on the M16A1 to small. Besides I trained and liked the old carry handle C7 flip battle/distance aperture. The M4 sight appears to be similar.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

I was able to install an A2 sight into my Norinco A1-style DA556, I think it'll work.
