M16A1 thread size question

Can someone advise me on whether the thread size for the current AR platform handgrip screw is different from an M16A1 thread?

I have a M16A1 stock set that I was going to put on my NEA Remington 870 AR Stock & Grip Adapter, but discovered the stock tube size was different. And it seems the handgrip thread is different, but the thread in the adapter looks kinda off too

I emailed NEA a few days ago, and havent heard back, but I'm sure their just backlogged. Just itchin to find out.

Any and all stocks and grips will attach to our adapters. Unsure what the issue is. We never received a email about this. Send me one to dave@ northeasternarms.com and we'll figure it out.

You're not using a Norinco buffer tube, are you? Threads may or may not be different on the Chinese copies. Grip screw too.

No Norinco. All came off a Colt AR-15 Property of U.S Gov't M16A1.
