Hey there,

A friend of mine has an interesting piece. An M1895 Nagant revolver chambered in .22. I have my restricted but am not really interested in purchasing pistols. However, I may end up being gifted it. I am curious, how does a revolver fire a rimfire cartridge? Does anyone have more knowledge of this pistol and it being rechambered? It is interesting how the gas seal system works.

Thanks for your help guys.

Most revolver ammo has rims on the head of the cartridge so the rounds can be extracted from the cylinder, a .22 rimfire cartridge has rims also.

I'd really like to see photos of this, as I've never heard of a M1895 Nagant chambered in .22.
[edit:just read the post about the .22 factory conversions - they seem pretty rare]

I'm wondering, is it possible your friend has a M1985 Nagant with an aftermarket cylinder chambered in .32 cal?
