Hi guys,
I'm looking for M193-class ammo, 55gr FMJ-BT bullet with 5.56 pressure loading from these manufacturers :

- Federal XM193
- Winchester Q3131
- IMI M193

and M855-class ammo, 62gr FMJ-BT bullet with mild steel penetrator in the nose with 5.56 pressure loading from these manufacturers :

- Federal XM855
- British SS-109

Does anyone know where to get these in Canada?

thanks!
Pat

5.56 isnt coming out of the U.S these days so they might be hard to find.. Keep checking the forums, seen a few boxes of Winchester Q3131 on sale a few weeks ago.

If you feel like loading your own, I've got 3k of ATK (Lake City) manufactured 55gr bullets sitting here, and will be getting more ss-109 bullets (62gr steel tiped core) in shortly.

Is there anyone in Canada that actually got Winchester 62grain FMJ this year?

Locally anyway, according to my Olin rep, no.

AE (Fed) 62gn FMJBT .223 has been available however.

The 55gn 223 SP and FMJ is rolling in here now by the pallet loads, as fishermen gear up for the seal hunt.

We are in the same boat out here too, 55grain and 62 Federal has been regularly available but no 62 grain or 55 grain Winchester...we keep getting told "there is a war on you know".

Thanks for the info guys!

But what would be the next best thing i.e. is there any mil-spec ammo available in Canada? I know that the CF use the C77, but don't know their specs...

I heard about ss109 but beware 'cause they don't all meet M193 mil-specs. I also saw some Winchester 55gr. on Marstar, but don't know if they are mil-spec or commercial.

C77 is analagous with M855, not M193. M193 is much faster that M855 because of the lighter bullit. SS109 is FN's spec for the bullet, not the cartridge. The British RG SS109 round is underloaded to address issues with the rifle used in the UK.
