I got a little project going on with a m1a action but i really need one of those schuster m1a metric gas plugs or something like it.

Any ideas where i could pick one up or even import.

I had a Schuster on my M305. The only way the gun would function was with the port fully closed. A waste of time and money IMHO. I abandoned it.

because there not a sponsor and an infraction for mentioning other businesses that do not sponsor

AFAIK it's only that you cannot link to a non-sponsor dealer.

admin just has some serious butthurt about that one particular dealer, for whatever reason

A dealer who has been fantastic to do business with, I might add.

I have one, and it works, but I was not impressed with the quality of the female adjustment threads. with todays equipment there is no excuse for sloppy loose threads.

Correction..... wouldn't function unless the Schuster port was fully closed.

And

The linking to non-supporting dealers rule relates to hot links, not simple references.

You do realize that the Schuster is used to reduce the pressure in the gas system so you can use MUCH hotter or heavier ammo than the system was designed for..... I would say, the Schuster worked exactly as designed. I have seen problems with the Schuster when used in conjunction with the Sadlak grooved piston.

I didn’t realize that Schuster made a metric threaded adjustable gas plug.

That's the reason I need it as I'm sure a 405gr bullet would be a tad bit heavy for the op rod.

I'm not pretending to know anything on anything but I iv made a mosin in 45-70 and it's my second favorite firearm I own my SS50 is first)

So Doc you think a m1a bolt would hold up to the thumping 45-70.

What the heck are you building?!!!

Off the cuff, if they can convert a M1 into 458 WM, then I’m sure the M1A can take a 45/70, if there’s enough meat left on the bolt after opening up the boltface to accommodate the larger rim of the 45/70.

I once saw a custom gas system on a custom barrel made by a fella out of Calgary, so anything is possible.
