I was once a proud owner of an M1a and sold it(silly me). Now, the appearance of the socom and short barreled Canadian versions has again piqued my interest.

I want one!

Heres the thing though- I will be reloading for the platform, I will be investing in a case gage. But I am a bit worried about the effects that I might face from a case catastrophe or slam fire. Im staring that op rod right in the eye- after all.

What do yall think- If I do get it would it be worth to shoot right handed- or no point?

I shoot my shorty left and fire only reloads in mine. It's all good. Use CCI primers (they have a harder cup than the rest) if you're concerned about slam fires.

There is a siseing die called small base wich makes sure the cartreges don't get stuck half way into battery im not sure if it is required but recommended there is a good bit on the m14.ca web site about reloading for an m14
