Hi All,
Just wanted to see what would be some suggestions for optics for my DMR build. I put a Springfield M1A National Match in a Troy MCS chassis. I got all the accessories and the last piece of the puzzle is glass. I have been considering these two:

Vortex Viper PST 6-24X x 50mm - http://www.cabelas.ca/product/69268/vortex-viper-pst-riflescope

or

Trijicon Accupoint 5-20x x 50mm - http://www.cabelas.ca/product/33309/trijicon-accupoint-riflescopes

Any opinions on these or maybe other suggestions? On another note, my build is FDE... I wish they made more FDE scopes...

Thanks in advance!

As the name indicates, the DMR is designed for the Designated Marksman Role i.e. a medium-range sniper capability integrated at the squad level.

A number of modifications and enhancements have been made to the M14 design to produce the DMR :

-McMillan Tactical M2A fiberglass stock which features an adjustable saddle cheekpiece

-Pistol grip

-22 inch, match-grade, stainless steel barrel

-Picatinny rail for the mounting of various scopes. Typical scopes fitted on DMRs include Leupold#Mark 4 day scopes and AN/PVS-10 or AN/PVS-17 night vision devices.

-Harris S-L folding bipod

So you want to build yourself a clone or replica TACOM M14 EBR-RI DMR?
Here is the basic recipe and components for a battle rifle variant that
has proven itself effective in the sand boxes of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Stock: Black SAGE M14ALCS

Barrel: 22" USGI chrome lined and standard weight or USGI modern spec barrel

Optic mount: SAGE M14DCSB

Rings: Leupold Medium Tactical - Steel

Scope: Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10 Non-Illuminated MIL DOT reticle

Bi-pod: Harris

Bi-pod mount: KAC Black in color

VFG rail: SAGE

VFG grip: SAGE

Multi tool: Bondhus

Magazines: 6 C.M.I.

Magazine pouches: KAC 3 double in coyote brown

Cleaning kit: Otis 7.62 Sniper

LFU/ARD: Anti reflection device / Laser filter - Buy one if you can.

Flash suppressor: USGI reamed to NM Specs.

NOTE: You will also need to supply a complete 22.0" barreled action.

The barrel on the TACOM M14EBR-RI is USGI chrome lined and standard
weight, but you can substitute as needed.

I don't have a chassis as I prefer wood but I have the trijicon 5-20 tr23 on my LRB m25's. For me it's the best setup and scope for the $$$ I had NF 5.5-22's, leupold & B&L fixed 10's which were awesome but I kept going back to these. If your looking for fde, leupold make a mk4 in fde, also a very nice optic

Cheers
