Hey, just wondering if Mystik High Temp Lithium Complex Grease (red in colour) is OK to use to grease the gun? A HUGE tube can be had for $5.99 which is considerably less than buying something with the word "gun" on it.... It says its good for bearings and other high temperature metal on metal applications. Anyone have experience using it?
Thanks in advance...

Haven't used that but something similar. I think you are good to go. Greasing an M14 is not high-tech endeavor.

I believe the flavor of the month is white lithium- just standard automotive grease- however, there are stickies on what lubricant to use and what points to apply- if you can't find those, look up garand lubrication- after all , for all purposes it is nothing but a 308 garand with a 20 round mag- and go to lee valley tools and get that syringe barney speaks of

Red marine grease high pressure is great in my NM rifles, it is sticky, thick and doesnt dispears easy... Work pretty well and permit big intervals between greasing, those NM being bedded the less you strip them the better it is... JP.

Should work just fine! I think you'd be surprised how many companies re-brand car oils and jack the price up ;)

Geissele uses Mobil-28 as the grease they provide for their triggers!
