M1A/M14 Gas Cylinder Shims

Looking at the FULTON ARMORY gas cylinder shims.

Anyone use these? What results may I expect?? Will they work on my 09 polytech?

Is this a similar product as the M-14 Gas Tube Shim Kit for sale at marstar??


lots of questions I know... just want to know more about this product.

ya, shiming the gas system helps tighten things up. Ya, jhey will work on your 09'. I made my own shims at one of hungrys clinics. You need to be able to remove your flash hider to install them tho. I tried making split shims but they would only last about 100 rounds untill they came apart. First, loosen off your gas lock. Re tighten, it should get snug at about the 3 o'clock position, and tighten up at the 12 o'clock position. some times all you need to do is remove your gas lock and flip it over to tighten things up. first things first tho, take it out and feed her some lead and see how she shoots.

They work very well
I order the shim kits from brownells as fulton won't ship to canada.
The martsar ones inside diameter are a shade to small and every time I've had to install them, I could not do it unless I cut them first. Not to knock marstar as I'm a huge fan, but the shims they offer are not my first choice.

I might be able to help you out as I do have ONE shim pack and I think I owe you a favor or two ;)
