Nope, I usually use rails like these mounted behind the swivel instead of forward.

They are longer and can accomodate a forward vertical grip and a bipod adapter. Easier to mount as well. You don't have to drill out the swivel rivets, and there is more meat on the stock behind the swivel.

Here's a pic of the rail I mentioned mounted on a USGI stock I am working on.
The base colour of the stock is a pebbled sand. I'm just trying to figure out which other camo colours to go with and I am also going to add a retractable butt stock, not an M4 type.
The fore grip will also be changed. I put that one on for illustration only and to show that there is plenty of room for a bipod.

My adaptor arrived the other day so I took the plunge and choppped my GI Glass stock the other day. Then realized I haven't got a Dremel. Still, I can work on the filling the selector cutout and retaining pin and go from there. Someone in town must have a Dremel they'll lend me. Or I could just go buy one. I also found the best stuff for marking the stock (I couldn't find an inkpad that was worth a damn at the office) is ink for postage meters. We happen to have about 4 bottles so I used one. Perfect.
Where'd you get the rail on your forend? I'll need something like that too.

Milarm will be getting some rails very soon. If you call ask for Dustin and tell him Jeff told ya (the more people interested the more they'll get). They are made by Leapers and should be fairly cheap. I'll be using them when they come in.

I get those rails from a supplier down south. 5" aluminum tapered, $30 US for a package of two 5" rails with mounting cap-screws and flush type ferrules. The best I have found so far. Haven't seen the Leapers yet so don't know if they are tapered (a must). I am going to place an order soon for another project so let me know.
