Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has knowledge on where I can get a scout mount for my m305A with the handguard, I'm looking to mount a red dot optic on it

And wondering what weight copper pills everyone uses in those M1A rifles

147gr Campro's seem to be a good buy. I use to shoot 155 gr A-Max in my last M-305, and had good results. I'm looking forward to giving 155 gr Hornady ELD's a go for those days I can get up to Pet with my new one.

I’m a “believer” in the M14.ca SHG product.

It does actually stiffen the barrel and help with shot-to-shot consistency.

The Ultimak rail is prettier, IMHO, but the SHG works better. The Springfield is just a small section of rail that attaches to the barrel and does nothing for accuracy.

I currently have all 3. Guess which 2 are in the parts bin and unused.....

My $.02

Thanks gang, I was looking at the M14. CA ones I was thinking about the Troy battle rail as well but I couldn't decide and M14 medic you said you have a Springfield scout Mount? Just curious could you pm me on that? Like what you're impressions were and if you'd toss it lol, mostly the scope mount would only go on my 7. 62 by 39 mm m305 a series so accuracy isn't going to be a factor really lol

I’ve been contacted by several fellas about that SAI mount.... it’s no longer in the parts bin!

The SAI mount is solid, and a great place to mount a forward mounted RDS, but it isn’t long enough to mount a scope IMHO. It also doesn’t allow co-witness with the irons, but neither would the other 2 models I mentioned...
