condition is great

the info i have on this rifle is that it was refurbished with a 1951 sa barrel and was used in korea i also was told it is one of 4900 made . I was shooting is a couple of times and its deadly accurate it has no scope or mounts . the barrel is bright . and functions great ! thanks for the info

No scope or mounts make it worth considerably less than the estimate given. I'm sure one of the Garand collectors will help you out with a good number.

The M1C had the commercial Griffin & Howe side mount. There is a short rail on the vertical side, and the scope base has a corresponding groove with two little locking levers. A very nice looking rig. As I understand, G&H will sell anyone a replica of their old model. They even have the jigs to drill the holes. But the old scopes aren't being made, so you have to go to the resale market. There are website that will help identify which serial numbers are correct, otherwise you have a Garand with holes in the side.

I found a m84 scope for mine on flea-bay. Now would be more difficult due to export permit required. It is the M1D - a more common variation.

Found that complete units are worth probably around 1800 - 2500 depending on condition.

Complete M1C units waould be way more valuable - especially in the US

yes, it has the 5 holes on the left side and it has been confirmed as a M1C garand by a big collector in the states . i was thinking of selling it so iam trying to get a fair price for it ! thanks again for all the info !!

Does it still have the flash hider and cheekpiece on the stock??
Does the stock have any cartouches?
The scopes were serialized to the rifle they were fitted to. They were then packed into a crate with all the goodies and the scope was packed in its own container in the crate. For whatever reason they felt that the scope had to stay with the rifle when it was shipped. They didnt want to take the first scope out of the bin and attach it to the first rifle in the rack. Without having the matching scope and mount, I would grade the rifle as a regular rifle first and then take into consideration its present state as an M1C.
Even if you had the proper scope and mount for the period it still wouldn't be worth as much as the same rifle that had the "original" scope. Obviously this rifle is worth more than a regular Garand in the same shape but how much more i cant say. Lets hear some opinions about what it might be worth as a proven but stripped M1C. I say $1000+ if its pristine.

M1c Garand

The Garand Was Bought Without The Scope And Mount !but Over All Its A Great Rare Rifle ! Thanks Gunner

Why was it taken off it was so "Rare"? Is the scope and mount with the previous owner?

What other proof can you offer that it is a real M1C and not "just a Garand with 5 holes in the receiver and Barrel Changed out"? Any documentation, etc?

There are many fakes and people want to see proof. Hopefully you can provide that. Thanks.

I did a little digging and he serial range is correct. It was most likly a DCM sale in around 1995 or so. Maybe there are some DCM papers kicking around??
