Gentlemen,
These are two photo's of the M1C and the M1E8 later to become the M1D. They show how they are attached to the M1 Garand Rifle. Notice on the M1E8 the cheekpiece. It is flat to allow the use of iron sites. Also notice the date on the M1E8. I hope you find this data of interest.

Some data has been posted before others have not.
Warning, before you go to my sites lower your volume as the opening page contains a sound file which has a loading and firing of the M1 Garand. So if you're at work or home it may be wise to check your volume control.

Gentlemen you know what to do. Push just a little more TIA. Gentlemen your doing a GREAT JOB.

Thanks again

M1C's faught in WW2, D-Day happend in June 6th 1944 or 6/6/1944 That file is almost 2 months after, Nevermind the war in the Pacific. :)

Meaning to get M1D's in fast enough they probably scarped all the tooling for the M1C's once they decided to go with the M1E8 system and just started shipping them to the front ASAP!.

There weren't enogh scopes being delivered to the armory to retrofit sniper versions. In fact only about 6 complete rifles were
delivered from the armory in the 1st year.

The M1Cs were actually converted by Griffin & Howe. Apparently they had the receivers delivered to them prior to heat-treatment for conversion.

There used to be alot of good info at www.jouster.com but they've switched the site around, and I'm too lazy to look.

The M1Cs were apparently done in number blocks, and they've been able to get a really good handle on totals ect & number blocks.

Gentlemen,
M1C where used in WW2. These files are just to show you the different setup's for these rifles. Notice on the M1E8 it has a flush cheekpiece. It could be peeled off and reset for a different shooter.
Thanks again
