Gentlemen,
Here are the next of Sniper photo for the M1E8. Only this one photo, however look at the cheek piece. Flat and can be peeled off and moved. Have to save some of the good ones for the books.

Is the scope offset to allow loading the clip?

Very interesting cheek piece...obviously prior to the strap on leather unit.
There was aquestion as to the offset of the scope.
Yes, the scope was offset tot he side to fascilitate loading and empty cartridge ejection. That is why the extra padded cheek piece was fitted. The one pictured must have been rather thin comparitively to the next cheek piece type.
