Does anyone know??:

Is there a rifled slug barrel that would fit on either the m2 or m4 tacticals? I emailed benelli about it, but no replies...yet :-\

Also is there a vertical front grip available for either the m2 or m4?

What about plugs to bring the magazine capacity down to 3rds, are they available somewhere?

TIA

Matt

For a vertical grip on the M4, you will need a railed forend. I have a FAB Defense railed forend, and I like it a lot, but it took a lot of "fitting" to get it to work, since the older M4's had a slightly different barrel profile.

You can also try the B&T forend, but its over 500 dollars from Wolverine Supplies :O

Do you have a link for that? I can't find it on wolverine's site, or even on a google search??

Matt

Sure. Here is the link to the Wolverine Supplies B&T page:

http://www.wolverinesupplies.com/default.asp?Pg=8&do=3&mcid=13&scid=35&pid=229

Click on "View Brugger and Thomet Price List" for the PDF, and scroll down to a bit before the middle of page 2.

It is listed as:

BT-21353 B&T 4-Rail Handguard for Benelli M4. Price = 535.55 (plus tax and shipping)

Here is a link to Brugger and Thomet's page for the M4s90 railed handguard:

www (dot) brugger-thomet (dot) ch/en/manufacturing/handguards/shotgun.php?pid=359

(remove (dot) and put in ' . ' a period, and no spaces... cant hotlink to other websites :p)

Heres a pic of it from DS Arms (Us company) website:

:D

Its a wicked looking product, but I cant justify the price right now. Maybe when I have some more cash laying around :p

Wicked, thanks for the help! I looked up your Fab defense too, they make a model that just is bolt-on, no smithing required. No idea on price I'll have to email wolverine.

Matt

The FAb Defense rail I have was 90 bucks + shipping and tax.

Unfortunatly it is NOT "no fitting required".

It was designed for the older generation of barrels without the little 1mm x 1mm "step" at the very end where it hits the barrel, I had to make a 45 degree chamfer on the top and sides of the inside of the handguards to relieve it of this ring on the barrel. Also, where the handguard went into the handguard hanger in the middle of the barrel, it was too "fat" with the little friction bumps, so I had to file those down. I then had to make 2 small epoxy "bumps" on the back/bottom of the handguard (where it hit the bottom of the magazine tube), to prevent it from moving up and down.

Overall, after the work was down, it is a very solid handguard! I actually like it even better than the stock handguards, even with the rail on the bottom. Its not as "fat" as it looks in the pictures, and forms to your hand very well.

Hey F22 thanks for the info. I've got another Q lol. Have you ever tried shooting slugs through it? How's the accuracy at 100yards?

Matt

Haven't tried slugs at 100, I can hit the 4" gong at 50 yards with slugs though.

I bought a bunch of 2-3/4" slugs and im gonna get a few 3" magnums to see what kind of accuracy I can get, next shooting trip though.

I have heard pretty good reports of accuracy from guys at ARFcom though!

The choke I have is cylinder bore. I must have gotten one of the models before they started putting in the modified choke, since I got the nice choke wrench with it as well.

ETA

nevermind, just went and checked with a micrometer and its tighter compared to my extended threaded choke (which is cylinder) so it must be modified :p

17.7mm diameter compared to 18.5mm

The M4 is evil - I was doing double tapping with magnum buck shots, while I was thinking these shots were reduced recoil loads the whole time.:D

I haven't touched a shotgun for like 4 or 5 years.....so you have an idea my level of skill with a shotgun..

Yep its gret for recoil.

3" magnums aren't all that bad on it either!

Benelli rifled barrels are HUGE money, anywhere from $600 - 900. I got a rifled choke tube from carlson's ,$45. Dunno about the mag plug, can't be that hard to do though.

I've got the carlson tube on my SBE, 28" barrel, seems pretty decent for grouping, I just ordered my M4 yesterday so when it comes, i'll be trying out the tube there also. I'll report back after the evil grin wears off.....
