Gentlemen,
These two files give us different data on the M1 Garand. As you can see from the Topic Name. I think that the M2 is the step to the M14.
Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History.
Some files have been seen before.

The M2 is also called the Experimental name of T20. :)

Its a interesting concept. There were many refinements to the M2 before it became the M15 Rifle. The M14 was semi-automatic, they issued M15's which were meant for the same job as the M2 shown above, to replace the BAR rifle in combat with the M1 design which would simplify maintenance issues and production issues. 2 Rifles sharing most of the components, simplifies greatly the production and field support of both the M14 and M15 when production began. :)

Interesting to note that they decided to use the Bren Bi-pod as the M2's "what would be issued" bi-pod. And the fact the retained the ability to fire M1 En-Block clips I believe in a interesting dual loading system, which meant if the gunner ran out of ammo he can "borrow" it from the rest of his unit in a snap. :)

Guess I should be looking for the early grenade launchers if I get lucky to find one in a dealers bin "out of the way" as a typical M7 launcher.

PS I guess I should stop calling the Select Fire M14 the M15 since they technically never issued it it was "phased out" before production and the same concept of rifle was turned into the M14E2/M14A1. :)

LOL, anyone else notice that S.A. used the wrong spelling of brake?
