Just recieved my M24 Tactical Intervention Sling from Farmboy at One Shot Tactical. I just wanted to say It is top notch gear!!! anyone with a tac precision rifle or any rifle for that matter should take a look at this rig. You will not regret it. If you hunt or shoot in a standing, Kneeling, sitting position you will realy appreciate this rig.....and no I didnt get a discount or credit for this plug.....

Just an opinion

The M24 T.I. sling is AWESOME!!!I love mine.

I won mine at our Provincial Sniper match.

Farmboy @ One Shot Tactical was gracious enought to donate the above sling and a standard T.I cuff sling for prizes.:D

SKBY.

I've got 2 of them, also from Farmboy, and they are awesome. They are fully adjustable depending on your build, stature and rifle setup and really do a hell of a lot for stabilizing your shooting prone or standing. Like I mentioned before, in a pinch you can pull a truck out of the ditch with this sling.

How practical is the sling in the field. Is this the type of T.I. sling where you have a separate attachment that goes around your arm and attaches to the main portion of the sling with a buckle. I think it would work fine on a range but if you are humping in the toolies with this around your arm, especially at night wouldn't it get in the way. Just asking.

Hi EC

The M24 sling is used by my different groups including SEALS, Rangers, USMC snipers, US Army SF and Canadian snipers.

The cuff itself can also be sewn onto a ghillie suit or shooting jacket so it's ready to go.

Even when it's just velcroed around your bicep it gets in the way about as much as your sleeve does. It's a Fastex buckle so you only need to attach the cuff to the main sling when your getting ready to shoot.

Oh he said Savage again, time for another picture :D

First post here. Thanks for kind words on my slings. I will have to check in on a regular basis.

EC, "How practical in the field" How practical is the ability to hit chest at 600 yards from standing, unslung to seated or prone slung and make hit in less than five seconds (Start to finish)? How practical is it to be able to get quickly into truly supported sling position without waving muzzle around and flagging your location to enemy? What value is it to have ability to do this when the FFP does not allow for a Bipod shot and rounds are coming your way?

That sling is used by many military groups including some highly trained Canadian Forces, that received some very good world press from things they did in Afghanistan.

Many US Army Snipers, US Army Special Forces Snipers, SEAL Snipers and USMC Snipers use this sling. Many of these purchased the sling out of thier own pocket so think about what you asked. I personally, over 25 years, have had a great deal of gear issued me but I buy what I really want and only what works. If I put money out for it it works.

Now important stuff, what the heck is wrong with the San Jose Sharks?

Farmboy,
Thx for the feedback back. You answered my questions.
Mike,
This was not a negative post regarding your sling so I do not have to think about what I asked. It was a legitimate question, if you thought I was knocking your sling, I wasn't. Do not take it the wrong way, as I said I was just asking.

LOL! Fundamentals me boy...Hockey+California=Sucks. The climate is too warm for the Canadian hockey stars. Seeing cleavage in January messes them up and they can't play right. And if the Russians see cleavage they just melt down. Hockey truly is, all about the boobs!:D

IMO these slings are practical in the field depending on what your intended use is. If you are pushing bush in Southern Ontario for whitetails I don't think its very practical as usually its a quick and close shot, if you get one. On the other hand if you are in Southern Alberta hunting elk over the open ranges then yes I believe its practical as usually you do have the time to set up and make the shot you want. These are of course in hunting situations, the merits of its tactical practicality I am not even close to qualified to speak of but I'm sure are well proven.

Guys please its the only Hockey we have and I have been waiting for them to go to the finals since the mid 1980s. Truthfully been real pissed at Sharks since they treated Nolan so bad. I got into hockey about twenty years ago when I lived in woods and my staelite picked up every hockey game in Canada (Both english and french)

Sorry for misunderstanding prior post.

As to quick up close shots, you can do a Hasty sling wrap like any sling so its as works good for up close and fast also.

Bah, if you're an American and you talk hockey, you'll get teased. That's just second nature, like breathing. It's not mean spirited...just the way we are.

I've been looking hard at these sling on the Hide, and all the positive feedback they got. Sadly i don't have teh funds right now, and i missed on Green Mountain Tactical's group buy, wich sux. I'll be sure to get one as soon as finances allow.

"...Tactical Intervention Sling..." A what? No offense Tacticalslings, and I'm sure it works well for active real world snipers and long range target shooters, but that's the most daft marketing term I've seen in years. Slings aren't 'tactical' nor do they intervene. Slings are for lugging rifle around and are dandy for fast stabalization for quick hunting shots, but 'tactical' it ain't.
ivo, forget the added bit on this fancy sniper/target sling. A sling is the best thing for a quick Ontario shot as long as you're carrying the rifle with the sling already around your arm. It's one of those things that's easier to do that explain. Essentially, your arm is wrapped with the sling, but the rifle isn't shouldered.

Question regarding the issue at hand here... Pardon the ignorance, but does the M24 sling (as sold) come with the cuff included or does it have to be purchased separately? I'm thinking about picking one up to compare - only sling I've got at the moment is a leather Les Tam 1907 style. Thanks guys.
