M305 – Shoots Right with CASM scope mount

Advice wanted: Have a Norinco M305 308. It shoots right of the point of aim – consistently.
With the Iron Sights it consistently shot right, I adjusted windage considerably and moved it. I also tapped the front sight to move point of impact to center.

Recently added the CASM scope mount (m14.ca; wow fast delivery!) with a 3-9 power scope at 100 yards.
Once again shooting far far right, I had to adjust the scope left to its maximum and still about 4 inches right at 100 yards.
The groupings are pretty good and elevation is all good.

So what can I do with the CASM mount to give me a bit more center and give me back some clicks on the scope.
I am thinking loosen up the left rear mounting screw and then tighten the right rear screw to adjust the scope angle a bit.

Any insights etc?

It is a project and keeps things interesting.

Sounds like you have an out of spec sight pocket.i would see if you can find an Arms18, or promag mount and see if you can get it on paper. I had one that was the same way. Sold it and never looked back.

Burris signature zee rings have plastic inserts that can fix this as well . They have a set that gives you 20 MOA and the bigger set have inserts up to 40MOA in any direction .

When you look down the rifle, does the CASM look true to bore axis?

Yes= an over torqued barrel, barrels that are install with too much torque to index them always shoot right.

No= rear sight pocket is out of square, or the receiver/barrel threading is not true.
