M305 Black wood stock from Norinco

I recently purchased another M305 from my local gunstore that received a shipment from Marstar. The wood on this on is so dark it almost looks black. I have heard that they are in demand by some folks. Is that true?

In demand as firewood maybe. Some people like re-finishing them just for the hell of it as well. It can look nice once you strip all the cosmoline and gick out of it but the wood itself is faaaar too soft to be useful as a gun stock.

Get either a surplus stock set or buy a new stock entirely but way the Chu wood has to go. I mean, it's not like anyone in their right mind would use Pine for a gun stock.

I concur... Norinco M14 stock... Translates as "kindling"...
