I don't imagine it'd be too difficult to do. It's just alot of work, so it might appear daunting (but really isn't). Put it this way, if you can do one layer, you can do 4-5 no problem. I would imagine it would be best to start with a solid olive drab coat over the entire rifle. Then work your way up. Tan would likely be #2, then brown, dark green and finally black. The general idea is that for every additional paintjob, you want fewer holes in your pattern you're paint through.

Surfing Barret Arms web site >www.armacoat.net<, they sell camo templates and color kits. Maybe give them a try.

(E)

Echo I'm stripping the paint off mine and trying out a desert tan look. We can do this man just be stead-fast in your resolve.:)

wallmart has some polyethilene sheets... different thickness... Get the one that winks at you, a hobby knife with spare blades. Wally also sales marpat fabric. Get some feet of that too.

superimpose, trace, cut, paint - the stencils will warp ... make new ones... paint again.
If you don't have airbrush, use the cand CT sales, but the marpat / cadpat has some green vivid color that you can't find in a can and the brown is too dark....

I didn't know about these stencils, or I would have spared me the frustration:runaway: . That depends on how much time exactly do you have on your hands. Good luck

I used tape and laid out the pattern, then cut it out, painted, retaped, laid out...yadda yadda. It didn't come out horribly, but no pro job either.

You can make you own templates (as I did) but it is time consuming.

I used overhead projector film and traced the patterns from a CADPAT uniform I have.Cutting the patterns out is the "fun" part.

I used OD as a base coat, and the the patterns in dark brown, black, and green Zinc Chromate.

Keep in mind that if you want the current CADPAT, substitue Military Brown for the Dark brown. The original CADPAT used Dark brown (I happen to like this version better). The newer CADPAT has a "pinkier" brown.

I did this for the Late Ron March. You can use it as a reference.

my first job... adn most likely the last.... cutting teh stencils aged me... I used spray cans, so they warped... cut some more.... in conclusion...I've learned many things... one of them is that if one wants to become efficient at it, one better do 5 at a time. For them artists with air brushes... they can use the colors that are in the Cadpat. I had to limit to Krylon camo and some reddish primer (which was actually the wife's idea)
