I have a vintage M305 that I bought on the GN forum that is in great condition and obviously has a low round count. When I got it I immediately changed out the wood stock for a SAGE EBR. Took it to the range and fired it, but the round didn't eject. I disassembled it a few more times and kept having the same problem. I figured it was a problem with the Sage, so I remounted the original and keep having the same problem. The bolt seems to move fine and it is well greased, but the gun won't cycle. So to break it down, I have a bolt action M305, and was wondering if there is anything simple I can do to fix it?

for starters
- check that gas plug is tight
- check the gas setting, the slot can get turned to the "off or closed" position
straight up/down gas is open, sideways gas is off.

Thats all I can think of for now. Others with more knowledge will be able to add more.

Also make sure the gas system is all lined up properly. I've had the ports misaligned once and it gave me sporadic cycling and ejection.

Satan's Kitten is probably on to something. You may have to add a couple of shims along with the one that came with the Sage. I had to do that on the 2 Sages I built in order to properly time the gas system. It also has to be timed again when you swap back to the wood stock.

Problem solved the gas setting was turned to off. Perhaps someone can help me turn the lights back on in my house, there's this thing on the wall but I don't know what to do with it. LOL
