I bought an unfinished Boyds a couple years back and am just now getting around to finishing it. I have a couple of questions I should probably ask before I screw it up.

1) The stock liner doesn't match the cut out in the stock very well. You can see those radii cutouts in the stock where in the norc synthetic stock it is just squared off and the liner fits in perfectly. Also, the hook tab part of the liner is pretty much only contacting the stock at the tips of the tab, and the flat portion of metal perpendicular(ish) the tab is not contacting the wood at all. What can I do about this?

2) The bottom butt plate screw doesn't have much if anything to thread into. Should I glue a dowel in there? edit: Nvm, just realized its a machine screw and the rear sling swivel is threaded for it.

3) How did you guys re-attach the front sling swivel? I was thinking screws instead of buying some new rivets? The Boyds stock is recessed on the inside where it looks like a nut would fit nicely, whereas the norc stock is extruded with steel washers holding the rivet flange.

I'm not much of a carpenter and it's my first go at finishing a stock so any tips would be appreciated.

1). Watch ton bens bedding video. He epoxy and beds in the stck liner after trimming them down.

Thanks for the video I actually got everything fitted and it all locks up real tight with the trigger assembly. I'll probably bed it down the road but I'm definitely putting it off for now.

I'm still looking for some 10-32 1/2" black screws/washers/nuts if anybody knows of a source please let me know. Treelinem14 sells some but the shipping is like $20 for a $5 set.
