m305/M14 stock not fitting

Ok sounds good. I'll look into both options. Just for others info I had to lightly file the keyway on the reciever for the trigger group to slide up and out without binding

been there done that with many trigger groups both Chinese and 'merican ;)
it's a good spot to add a dab of grease during assembly too.

the shoe polish trick probably won't help ya here.
I think the best reference for someone to do it themselves is the Kunhaussen shop manual from brownells, very clearly details what the inlet should look like with pics and measurements. Makes it pretty easy to measure if an area of the stock is grossly out of spec.
as for who can bed it for you....... the only shop us m14 "gurus" seem to know about and be able to recommend is Tactical Ordnance , a sponsor here. Since I retired from all things related to the m14 (business/smithing ) I have been referring dozens of guys there and been thanked just as many times by guys happy with the outcome.

otherwise, have a gander at the m14 bedding video series that Tony Ben has compiled, with the info and techniques used by some of the top "real" m14 gurus in the USA.

I had the same problem with my m305 and a new stock as the OP and shoe polish showed me the way. I realize its too complicated a procedure for some folk to comprehend. I was just offering what worked for me.

no worries man, wasn't tryin to crap on yer idea ;)
in fact I have used a similar a method as you describe to look for other fitment issues
