M305/M14S Receivers?

Exactly what Skullboy says !

For $ 399 you get a reciever that is second to none. The parts that happen to be screwed on are just icing on the layer cake !

Doncha just love metaphors ?

Suppose you have M305, can you sell that receiver to you clueless friend with Springfield? Is M305 receiver fit S/A no problem?

No problem. The barrel threads for the reciever are USGI Spec.

The only difference between the two rifles would be the metric threads for the barrel gaslock & castlenut on the Norcs, plus the gasnut is metric and the Norc gas piston/cylinder is not the same diameter as USGI/M1A specs.

Everything else can be swapped between the two.

Price check on aisle 14 ...
I think I scooped the last free range Chinese lone receivers from Century several years ago . They used to sell complete Chinese rifles, do-it-yourself kits, and at the end, receivers all by their lonesome.

I got four almost perfect Norinco/and or Polytech NEW receivers... at $ 100 Canuck bucks each. These did NOT look like takeoffs ... they truly looked new NEW ... the receiver threads still had bluing and the locking lug surfaces were untouched. Dimensionally as close to a perfect unworn US GI receiver as you could get.

But those good old days are gone.

Wanna hear a rumor?

At one time Joe Dlask was looking into having the M-14 receivers made up for him. Last time I asked about these, he said there just was'nt enough demand here in Canada to make it viable.

What do you think??

M305 receiver

Check with Marstar. I purchased a receiver from them last year. Still had the rear sight, bolt stop and op rod guide pin. I think they occasionally break a complete rifle down for parts to use for warranty claims/repairs.
Good luck.

IC, thanks for the info. I had heard of receivers only, but now I can see why. Figured it was only a rumor, but this explanation makes sense.

i'm gonna go talk to joe at dlask and see if i can't find out what his m14 plans are or were, he'll be doing some mods on my new m305 as soon as it arrives from Al's in hamilton
