I have a question for those of you who have had your barrel index corrected on one of these rifles. After you corrected the indexing, based on the center tip between the feed ramps at the bottom/back of the chamber, were the spline cuts in your barrel aligned properly?
I ask because I now have two over indexed barrels which still have the top of the front sights leaning to the right. That means, if I correct their indexing based on centering the chamber feed ramps, I am going to have front sights leaning severely to the right.
I still haven't taken off my FH's, so I am really hoping that the problem is only the placement of the splines in them. If that is the case, I could easily fix the problem by replacing the FH's. However, if the spline cuts on the barrels are off, I am slucked! I will be down for at least the cost of another 2 M305's, and that is if I do the barrel swaps myself.
I now don't think this barrel indexing problem was caused by Friday afternoon assembly by school children, I believe they only did it to try to center the front sight posts from seriously screwed up FH's. What say you?
