Been looking around for a good muzzle brake that has a sleeve to shroud the stubby 2 inch section of barrel that is between the thread and front sight/gas block. Can't seem to find any solutions. The closest thing i've come across on my search is the ACC deep socket flash hider for the SCAR H shown below:

Any other solutions fellow Norc m14 owners have found?

I decided to get Dlask to re-thread the barrel to a more manageable 1/2-28 thread then with a thread adapter attach a surefire MB762SSAL brake. Kind of like how someone did on on this airsoft rifle.

Here was my solution. An adapter I machined that went from 15x0.75 on the barrel nut to one of the standard 30 cal size threads.

In doing this, I learned that the threads for the nut on the flash suppressor are not consistently aligned with the bore on an M305. If you make an adapter aligned properly for one barrel, it probably won't line up properly on another barrel. I guess they had no need for such precision when they made these rifles. The flash suppressor aligns on the splines, and even at that, probably doesn't have to be aligned correctly. But a brake, with tighter clearances, does.
