Hello

Hoping some of you may be able to help me if youve encountered similar situations.

I was doing the much recommended hockey game trigger job. 50 pulls in. My trigger froze up with the hammer cocked back. Trigger is completely locked. Looks like my trigger pin may have backed out a bit. Just a mm or two. Looks to me like its just out of the back left hole in hammer spring housing, but no further. I cant seem to line it all up to push it the rest of the way back in.

Should I be looking for another trigger pin and tearing down and reassembling this whole thing? Is there anything I can do to stop this in the future? Is this normal and is the pin likely a goner?

Any advice you can send my way is much appreciated. Im sitting here debating trying to punch the pin out completely..or? Ha, tough.

The safety was in the off position but it can be moved on or off. Ill try and upload a pic. I feel its the pin. Im a new user to this style of rifle though.

Well the wiggling and jiggling method worked. Used pliers to pull the trigger as forward as possible and another pair to finally squeeze the pin back in. Thanks for the help. What can I do to help prevent this in the future?

"...the wiggling and jiggling method..." That'd be the technical term. Works every time.
"...What can I do to help prevent this..." Depends on what caused it and if it's a split pin or a solid pin. A split pin might, I say again might help.

This has happened to me...no biggie to fix. As said, relieve the spring pressure by pressing the back of the spring against a hard surface and then wiggle the pin(s) back into place.

I haven't staked my pins to keep them in place, I'm just careful when I manipulate the trigger assembly.
