M38 front sight

Any ideas on how to "Tighten" up the front sight? And still have it so I can adjust it? As it sits it moves with every shot!

My guess the dovetail opened up, you could heat it up and clamp it closed more.

Does it move Right/Left, or up and down???

You could cut a shim out of an aluminum can.

Depending on how loose it is u could use red loctite.

I have fixed many Mosins by simply LIGHTLY peening down the dovetail. Go in steps until it closes up the dovetail enough to hold the front sight. This is the only permanent fix.

It moves right left. In fact I can move it with my fingers. Thanks for the replies!
I think I'll try the peening trick. Not sure why I didn't think of that...maybe to frustrated? lol

Yeah heat it up will make it move easier.
