M38 Mosin and Bayo

Was the Mosin M38 7.62x54 issued with a bayonet? Any that I have seen don't see to come with them.

Nope. Thats why they came up with the M44

No bayonet, I think the barrel is to big for it. As points said that is why the came up with M44

Barrel to big? does this mean the M38 is considered a medium/heavy barrel? I have very limited expierence with mosins.

Nope , Mine doesnt have one either but with the flame that comes out of the barrel you dont need one...lol
I read that they were isssued to the rear echelon types , didnt notice the barrel being any thicker than my 91-30 ?? but I will check tommorow .
