M38 Mosins... Here they come!

So all of a sudden at least two dealers are stocking, or will soon be stocking M38 Mosins! I didn't think I'd see any more of that given how little of that type we've seen lately.

And they are in Russian SKS price ranges!!!

Rifle vs carbine - whichever you prefer is preferable

The M38 itself is the more desirable carbine for a few reasons. They've all been through the war and, more practically, they were never fitted with a bayonet, so they're a bit lighter and you don't have that thing on the side messing up your barrel harmonics that you've got with the M44

No kidding. I'll admit I still wanted one at that price but was just too high to go.

Makes the M44s seem too highly priced now too.

The last 6 months sure saw a spike in asking prices.

Not an EE rant. I think most thought mosin carbine supply had dried up. I wonder where these were found.

So the picture on TradeEx site is of a M38. But how can you tell if its a M38 or M44 stock >?

M44 stock has an indent along the top right side where the bayonet folds into. Some M38s were refitted with m44 stocks.

Like to see some of the Polish M44s come down a bit too. 500 is too much for having little collector value.

625 at west rifle as compared with 239 at Tradex whats up with that
