Hey, I have a stock M4A3
looking to put a sight on it. a tactical one.

firstly any good sights out there. any recommendations?

Also can I leave the front sight on and just run the flat top with the sight on it. OR do i need to remove the front sight?

Whats the standard practice in this situation. leave the front sight on and out a tactical sight on. will it clear the front sight or will my view be blocked?

What do you mean by "tactical sight"? Aimpoint, Eotech, something else?

Leave the front sight on, you won't notice it's there.
 
2 suggestions come to mind. Check out the optics forum here on CGN. KevinB has a large post about black rifle optic options. Also, check out the AR15 photo gallery thread here on CGN too. Get a feeling for what things look like and where people are mounting their optics.
 
+1 on reading KevinB's thread. Lots of good info.

+1 on leaving your existing sight on too. You won't even notice it if you've got a magnified optic on there, and with a zero magnification optic, you can go with a 100% co-witness or use a small riser to get a bottom third co-witness. LaRue makes a great riser for Eotechs.
