I went to the range today with this setup:
Winchester Model 70 Black Shadow (.270 Win.) scope with a bushnell trophy 4-12x40 on Burris base and rings.

The problem is that it did not group....I mean all the impacts were in a 5 inch box at 100 yards. I was doing 4 shot group and I let the rifle cool down because it's not a HB. and with 20 rounds, I wasn't even able to put bullets in 1.5 MOA.

Can someone tell me if this is the normal accuracy for this gun (I know it's not a cadillac) or maybe something is too cheap, like the stock...

thanks

Have you checked all scope mounting screws for tightness? The base mounting screws should be loctited in place with the ring screws holding the scope being tight. Ensure your front stock screw is tight, then tighten the rear one hand tight, then back it off a half turn. Is the stock contacting the barrel? Were you resting the stock on a sandbag or some other type of rest and not the barrel (this is the proper way). Handloaded ammo or factory? How much shooting experiencve do you have? There are many variables that can lead to this happening...

thanks for reply, everything screws are very tight and scope mount/ring too. I normaly shoot remington core lock 130gr. as I'm not a reloader (not yet...) there is enough space between the barrel and the stock to pass one and two sheets of papers, and I rest the stock on sand bags at the level of the frond swevel stud. But I remark something, the stock seem to be realy realy realy soft, I mean taht with a little wrist twist, the whole stock seem to twist.

I have good to very good intermediate shooting experiance...

dont know if those details tell you more.....
maybe it's just me taht realy sucks!!!

Firstly, you do have a problem, that rifle with factory ammo should be able to group no worse than 2 MOA. If everything appears to be tight, put a different scope on to see if that resolves the problem. Check the muzzle for damage or poor workmanship, check the dimensions of your fired cases to see if there is something amiss in the chamber. Check the length of the throat, it might be too short. Check the bedding in the stock so ensure that the action is not loose and that the screws have not bottomed out too soon. Shim the action slightly to see if relieving the pressure point in the barrel channel helps. Just make one change at a time so you can be sure of isolating the problem.
