Any opinions out there as to the quality of recent factory Win M70 triggers. Has anyone ever had a trigger job done on them and what brand have you replaced them with? Should I just leave the thing status quo???

I had my pushfeed 7mm Rem Mag lightened by Reliable in Vancouver. I asked for 3Lbs but when I picked it up they said the best they could do was 3.5Lbs to keep it safe. It's a big improvement over how it was originaly. They did a trigger job not a replacement. I will bring them my FWT 6.5x55 to do the same thing.

The M70 triggers come sealed with an epoxy sealer for their weight of pull adjustment screw. Once this adhesive is removed it is an easy matter to adjust the weight of pull and the overtravel, it is an easy job but the weight of pull should not be brought down to below 3.5lb, a proper trigger weight pull scale is a must for this job and in no way should anyone try this adjustment without one. The sear engagement is the only adjustment that cannot be done and the adjustment for that is for the experienced gunsmith, not reccomended for anyone else. If after the two first adjustments don't satisfy you then either bring the gun to a gunsmith or replace the trigger, Timney and Jewel both make good triggers for the M70, they are not as uncomplicated as the factory trigger but the M70 trigger is known to be a bulletproof and very simple design, but they are another solution if there is no gunsmith available and usually easy to order and install.
