M70 XTR quality

How were rthe older m70 xtrs for accuracy. Found one locally, nice wood, heavy. Barrel does not seem floated. Can these shoot with modern rifles?

I owned one in 270win. It shot 5 rounds into 1.5" with 2 different kinds of hunting ammo (Rem cor-loct and Win powerpoint) which I consider to be excellent for a hunting gun. My friend had one with a replaced stock in .308win that shot 5 into less than an inch off a sandbag. I have no issues with them. Push feed's are usually always accurate.

They are a good push feed action, bed the barrel and action, reload and have fun it should shoot well.
