Recently bought a Ruger Guide Gun in .375 Ruger.Thinking about what I could put on it for a scope. If I can find a Leupold M8 4x would that scope give lots of eye relief? What would I expect to pay for that scope in good shape?Any other scope be better?

Couple brown ones should be 'nuff.
I've seen them posted for more, but if they aren't mint, tuff sell?
There are a couple in the EE right now.
Not quite yer flavour, but close.

The M8s are a nice scope. The older ones have a longer tube which works well on a long action giving more placement flexibility. The later gen M8s are the same size/length as the current FXIIs, which are a bit shorter.

The FXIIs are very nice scopes. Clear and bright improved over the M8s. I currently own both models.

Wouldn't be a bad choice but I would opt for a mid-power variable like the 2.5-8x Leupold for a few dollars more. Adds a lot of versatility for a rifle like a 375 which has some reach to it.

Very good choice as well. I like the extra magnification for use at the range for load development.

The best scope I've purchased for hard kicking rifles was my elite 1.5 -8X 6500. 4-5" eye relief. They introduced them at 800$ I bought one. Loved it. I then saw them on sale for 450$. I should have purchased 10, I didn't realize that they had been discontinued. If you can find one of those, I'd say that is possibly the finest dangerous game scope ever conceived.

I have the Leupold 2.5-8 on mine. I think too many people relegate the .375 class guns to short shot boomers, thinking that with a big ol' bullet , it must be like a 45/70. They are similar to a .30-06 or .308 in trajectory. Put some good variable glass on it. My .375 Ruger took a wolf at 440yds.

I use a VX III 4-14X40 on my 375 ruger. I love it, it's great for counting points in the low light conditions when bull elk tend to step out of the thick stuff(here in BC we have to do a lot of point counting and you don't always have a spotting scope) and your binos don't quite cut it.
