Less than 2k pressure under proof loads? Wow. Wonder if it's worth it

For those curious, Level IV Russian armor is rated to stop 7N10 5.45x39 (52gr hardened steel penetrator at 2950fps) at 5 yards. Not extremely surprising that it stopped M855A1, but still a good test.

Im going to assume were never going to see m855-A1 in Canada
If you do (even in the US you really shouldn't see it available), it's gonna be the first generation which has proof load pressures. That first gen stuff has destroyed in short order every gun it's been through.

Nasty stuff.

They reworked the load and the second gen has lower pressures.



Or like Greentips said, rejects.


As far as armor piercing goes, M995 is better.
