Greetings folks...Recently aquired a Tula ex sniper dated 1939.Looking at the two filled holes for the mount that was previously on her from inside of the reciever, they are definetely off as far as a PU mount/base is much too short. From what I can tell, and have observed with PE and PEM sniper rifles, this might have been a PEM mounted sniper rifle.I'd like to check the dimensions to be sure,..anyone have a source for it?...If I wanted to restore her, would it be possible to source or have a repro mount fabricated?I'm pretty sure that locating an orginal will be impossible..

Check Accumount.com, they offer repro mount and scope.

PEM mount

I "re-snipered" an Ishevsk manufactured MN that was drilled for a PEM mount.
I already had an original PEM scope, but bought the mount from a guy that advertised them on Gunboards Forums - check the sniper forum. Excellent piece of work and fit perfectly.

Good luck!

I think this is a nice take on a Mosin sniper. I've had a PU Mosin as well, this is a much better scope.

These scopes and mounts are available in Canada for reasonable amounts.

Wish I could read Russian...

Yup,that is pretty slick looking.I'm in no great hurry so I'll try to source the orginal type of mount base. This is the side mounted type, though I may have to look at the PE type mount base. The PEM side mount will be a tough find..

That is nice work Cantom I have a few questions though

How far offset is the scope from the bore centerline?. How are that type of russian scope?. Do you like it. Thanks in advance.

The scope is offset to the left so you can load the rifle. Just like a Garand M1D and others. Scope is PS0-1 or POSP type. Haven't fired it but the PO said it shoots well like his Enfield.

I think this is a very cool rifle!

This outfit has the mounts (doesn't look exactly the same) and many different scopes to fit. (remove spaces between w's)

The scope is presumably off a Dragunov. There is a battery in the housing at the rear, which seems to be dead. There is a toggle switch to turn the illumination on for the reticle, there is a bulb for that that can be unscrewed and removed.

There is a switch on the left side of the tube, that when you turn it 90 degrees, the view changes, kind of like switching your rear view mirror to night setting. I think I read somewhere that there was an infra red detector or something?
