M91 M91/30, what is the difference?

The 91/30 was modelled on the 1891 Dragoon rifle after a series of improvement trials held in the 20s. Like the drgoon, it was longer than the 1907 carbine but shorter than the 1891 infantry rifle.

The 91/30 uses a metric graduated tangent rear sight and a hooded post front sight. From the dragoon was also taken the use of band springs to retain the barrel bands. Initially these were of solid construction but were later changed to a slotted design.

From 1936 or so, the hexagonal reciever of the 1891 was replaced by a simplified round receiver.
