So I got my new Norinco M93 in the mail today!! Awesome right? So I decide to take it apart and clean off all the grease.

Well so I field strip it and clean and oil the sucker. Well I'm reassembling it and run it a slight readjustment issue with the hammer strut... Well long storu short the gun is together and the slide won't pull all the way back now lmao. Kinda effed that eh. Ill have to fix it when I get home oops.

youtube is your friend- there's videos on how to strip, repair and a bunch of other stuff on there- and i won't even rub you about NOT READING THE STICKIES

Actually it was a youtube video I used to figure out how to strip it and put it back together at all... I will admit it was a bad quality video.

Also: what stickies regarding this exactly?

Next time, check the EE and you can score yourself a sweet deal on a quality pistol instead and avoid Norinco alltogether. I got an excellent stainless Ruger Mk.3 22/45 in case with 2 mags, shipped and no tax for 300 bucks here on CGN. Im sure that Norinco wasnt much less than that if it was brand new. Hope you get your problem solved. Youtube is always a good source for info and demonstrations.

I priced out a new Norinco M93 at Marstar and after tax and shipping, you are looking at about 220$ approximately. Ive seen Ruger Mk.1's and Mk.2s sell on this site for as low as 250 bucks shipped. I would take a used Ruger any day of the week over a new Norinco. Like I said, I hope the OP gets this issue resolved, but maybe this is a good experience to learn from and to avoid Norinco stuff in the future. The EE is always a good source for great deals on good guns.

cote_b,

It's not really a Norinco issue as much as it is a John Moses Browning issue since it is his design that Norc is copying.

Ah yes, blame Norincos poor quality manufacturing and poor quality control on the most successful gun deigner in American History. I seriosuly doubt original Colt Woodsman pistols were nearly as bad as these chinese knockoffs. Mr.Browning merely designed a gun. And a good one at that. How the chinese decided to make unlicensed copies of these pistols isnt his fault. Whats next? Blaming the designers at Rolex when our Vietnamese knockoffs dont work properly

You sure are onto something here, however I would let him learn his own lesson about Chinese quality. No point in trying to piss him off.

Good point. I do not wish to upset the O.P. I wish the O.P best of luck in resolving the issue. I encourage him to check the EE here on CGN for used quality guns, before buying another Norinco ( or even worse, a brand new Norinco)

Question for those slagging the M93? Have you actually shot one?

If so, and you have the same opinion then fine. But if you are spouting off and haven't shot one then thats crap.

It does indeed appear that the M93 has risen in price. I purchased mine for about $180 all in over a year ago. So I stand corrected there..

There is always going to be someone that has a hate on for Norinco or anything the Chinese make,Let the haters Hate. There is nothing you can say to change thier narrow minded views.

Well I payed 80 bucks more for a Ruger 22/45 stainless target with a heavy barrel, 2 mags and a hard case. As good as those who own a Norinco m93 claim it is, it will never be half the gun my Ruger is. There is a reason Norinco's are so cheap brand new.

I do happen to own a Norinco. I bought a brand new, in grease SKS about 6 months before the tidal wave of Russian SKS's came into Canada. Ill admit, it shoots well. But considering I payed the same for it as my buddy payed for his mint Russian SKS, the Norinco isnt nearly as good. The bluing is thin, the wood is awful and the general fit and finish is much worse than a Russian SKS, and for a 10$ price difference. I would gladly sell my Norinco and get a Russian, but I will never get nearly what I payed for it, with all these Russians in Canada now.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions here, but I know I will stick to buying used, quality firearms over brand new Norinco. Sure, I may pay a little bit more, but the quality and pride of ownership is well worth it.

I did not mean to offend anyone here or insult anyones choices on firearm choice. Instead, I want to recommend spending a little bit more on purchasing better quality, used firearms, especially here on CGN in the EE. Merely my opinion.

Lets have this thread carry on. My apolpgies andyman_69.

funny, i've had the 93 for 6 years now and never had a lick of trouble with it aside from the rear sight had to be tapped back-
as far as this pride of ownership thing goes, it's b/s- the smith guys downgrade the rugers, and the ruger guys downgrade the norincos- the COLT guys down the smiths, and so on- when it comes down to it, it's the nut BEHIND THE TRIGGER that makes the difference- just b/c you own a HAMMERELI doesn't mean you can shoot and it's Paid, NOT PAYED

Who cares. For under $400 there is all kinds of guns from Norinco. Take your pick, SKS's, Shotguns,CZ's,1911's,Sigs ect. For every one hater there is probably 10 guy's that love them.
