Commonly, 8x56R Austrian made ammunition is found at gun shows and at dealers, packaged in cardboard cartons containing two, five-round Mannlicher clips. The cartons are usually dated 1938 or 1939 and are marked "8mm M. 30" with a large red "S" on the carton flap. The "S" on the ammunition carton corresponds to the "S" stamped on the barrel of the M95.

I have one carton of two 5 rd clips as well as one extra clip of 5 rds. The individual rounds are marked "VIII 1938 Eagle over swastika"

The clips are also marked. Two have eagle over swastika, the third has a two headed eagle. The carton is marked

1o Stuck
8mm M. 30 scharfe
S. Patronen
Rottw.
XXII. 1938
Eagle over swastika
P635

Thanks,

Geoff

Last milsurp 56R I bought was 20$/10rds. And it was CRAP. I knew it would be though, all I / 38. The later lots have always been better in my experience.
2$s a round is getting to be pretty much the norm these days it seems. The 8/38 has always been the most reliable for me.
