I have a M 95 carbine with 5 metal ammo clips. So I gather you put your rounds in the metal round holder and slide it in from the top. My question is do you leave the metal clip in the rifle like a M1 Garand? And if so when you go through all the rounds does the clip pop out the bottem or stay in there until you load another one.

Depends on how dirty or loose fitting the stripper clip is, and your mag housing. Usually they just fall out. If they stick, when you jamn the next one in the empty one will fall out.

They stick, I have to push them through with my finger.

I put a strip of MASKING TAPE across the Clip Port on mine. That way, nothing gets trampled.

Those things cost MONEY and they are getting harder and harder to find all the time.

None MADE since about 1944 or '45, remember.

I see them once in a while on eBay for about $60 plus shipping for 5. Glad mine came with a set of 5.

Where are you getting your ammo from? Can I get a crate anywhere?

8x56R I make up with new brass from Trade-Ex, bullets from them or you can cast. Lee has a .329 mould for $30, sizer/lubricator for $20, dies for $35.

8x50R I fake up from 7.62x54R Russian brass, FL sized, trimmed to length. If the shoulder needs to be pushed back, I do this with $35 Lee 8mm Lebel die. Slugs are .323"

Original slug for the 8x50R was 244 grains, 208 for the x56R: nasty-kicking brutes but great fun on days when you are feeling a bit masochistic. After that, you can go pay the rent, the hydro and so forth..... and it doesn't hurt!

DO have fun!

Hope this helps a bit.

You can also buy Prvi ammo from a few of the distributors at the top of the page. Its new manufacture, and 25-35$ a box depending on where you buy it.
