I'm wondering if someone can help me out. I have an m96 with a scope mounted on weaver bases. My rings are Millett mediums. When I eject the round it's hitting the bottom of the scope. Just wondering if this is normal for the rifle and what I can do to stop this. Higher rings? I'm not really wanting to do that I like my scope mounted lower.

Is it a cosmetic issue? If so, put some electical tape on the barrel of the scope where the brass hits it.
I believe the 96 uses a blade style ejector similar to the 98 and most likely in roughly the same position...?

I actually fixed the issue. I took a look at one of my 98 mauser sporters and extractors and ground the bevel down slighty and the hight tip very slightly got the advice off a google search. Im talking very slightly because you can screw up the extractor. This changed the way the brass ejected from going almost straight up to horizontally. issue fixed!
