M96 Swedish mauser rear weaver mount.

I got my M96 Swedish Sporter from Trade Ex today. Gun looks good but as advertised it only had one weaver front base. Can someone confirm if I need a number 55 weaver base on the back. The one hole closest to the bolt opening looks really close to a curve on the action. Wonder if I am going to have to file down my base to make her fit? Here is a pic. Thanks.

The Swedish Mauser uses a Weaver 55 rear and a 46 front base. It does look like someone has drilled the front hole of the rear base a bit forward, right into the curve of the charger bridge. You might have to bevel the front of the Weaver 55 base to fit, but that is not a big job and a few minutes with a file should do it easily. It will still have enough support for a secure mounting.

Thanks Buffdog. Just picked up a Weaver 55 at my local Canadian Tire and yes I will be doing some filing. - go figure - lol.
