M96 Swedish Mauser Scout Mount now available:

Interesting. $81.49 + GST and shipping, I assume. Looks like the design Dutchman was perfecting some years ago.

Seems worth it. I always thought my 96 was more accurate than I am.

I love those tall and slender Swedes!

Yeah. Even tho I qualified as "Expert" (highest score in my US Army Basic Training company) via "my" M-1 rifle, that was a loooong
time ago (pre M-14s!). These days I'm pretty well useless at 100yd with only these ageing natural eyes. I can still put a hole in a silhouette, but a 6" circle?? I can't even see it!
This Swede is so nice (and accurate!) it seems a shame to keep her locked away.

Here's hoping this 'device' lives up to its promise, so we can both have a new lease on shooting life.

Mine looks to be about 10". Your results may differ.
I'm looking at a Leupold at the mo'.

BTW-- We used to have a 1st Sgt who wore white gloves during his Saturday Morning Inspections.
If you had any thoughts of going out on Saturday night, your weapon had better be exceptionally clean.

Otherwise, these film stars may not want to show off their tatts, or their hairy hands.
Or open, festering wounds. Or to 'leave no prints'?

YES, I think the other Leupold, the FX-II Scout 2.5x28mm...is the better alternative.

I've got a great Redfield scope; it's been a real workhorse that's served me well on numerous rifles.
This 3-9x40 one's been a reliable brute for years, but it's not suitable for this particular application.
Do Redfields have an LER scope in their lineup?

I'm waiting to have a boo at those Cabelas' handgun scopes. They've got
quite few on their site, so I'll need to go in and see them up close.

Great music theme on the installation video! I wonder if the kit comes with that mini-level?!

Comes with a pair of gloves too!
But seriously, I don't think it does. I got the vz24 one from him. I like it, fits really nice. I'm using a Vortex Scout. My only complaint is the fact that it has a picantinny rail. Looks out of place on a 80 year old rifle. A Weaver rail would would look sleeker, but I guess it doesn't matter due to the modern scope.

Looks good. Just ordered two for Swedes. Both LER Mauser 98 and 48 were out of stock.

Ja, they had very little stock last month, so I got on the "Wish List". Much to my surprise, I was contacted ~ 2wks later, to inform me the Swede mounts
were back in stock, so I ordered that very day (q.v. my 'OP'). I expect they wait until the Wishers reach a critical mass, then they project/extrapolate
about how many members will actually order, based on their data. But it's like the doctor told the anxious midget: "Now settle down, sir. You'll just have to be a little patient".[/FONT]
