MAC-10 Question

If undertstand correctly, from reading in another thread, the MAC-10 is only restricted? It also sounds like the biggest obstacle to getting one in Canada is the South African manufacturer not doing business with the private sector.

My question is this, what's to stop someone from importing one of the MAC-10 knockoff pistols from the US? Masterpiece arms make a few different knockoffs, classed as pistols. They're cheap, about $350usd. Probably not a great pistol, but a neat addition to a collection, and a heck of a conversation piece at the range.

I'm probably wrong, just wanted someone with the knowledge to enlighten me.

To my knowledge, they're prohib. The ones restricteds are derivatives or look-alikes. Sort of Sig550 vs PE-90.

You can't get USA MACs in any form. The South African unit really is not a MAC. It is very much heavier and balances differently.

Most everything cool is Prohib. Some people like stated say the MAC is an ugly piece of Crap.... well guess what. Its just one more ugly piece of crap I wish we were alowed to own. All guns are good too me, condem one, condem them all.
